A WARM WELCOME to members and visitors.
We had a very entertaining & informative demonstration by Michael Bowyer, his floral
displays were spectacular.
Thanks to all who came to the foam free workshops in April, I hope you all enjoyed making the clay “frogs”, we also had some lovely decorated bottles and tin can arrangements.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 4thMAY Charity Coffee Morning in aid of Cancer research at
Mark Village Hall 10am to noon various stalls and Joys lovely plants will be for sale.

TUESDAY 12thMAY demonstration by Julia Harrison with her interesting title “backwards and forwards”.
ALSO next month our CLUB COMPETITION
It would be lovely to see the hall filled with beautiful wedding themed arrangements.

height unrestricted but in proportion to the arrangement.

BATH AND WEST SHOW 28th to30th MAY
TAUNTON FLOWER SHOW 7th & 8th August
Is there anyone,( 2 or 3 people ) who would like to represent the flower club at either show. The cost of the flowers would be met by the club. Also lots of helpful tips from previous exhibitors.
Individuals also encouraged to enter.

TUESDAY 9th JUNE CLUB NIGHT We are again taking part in the LONELY BOUQUETS, where we will be leaving a flower arrangement in either a basket or box in various places around our community, alternately to someone who is ill or needs cheering up. There will be one visitor pass on each arrangement which entitles one free entry to an evening at the club in either July or September.
JOY & DI will be showing us how to arrange a simple arrangement in either a basket or a box.
We will provide a plastic container with oasis in a basket or box. We ask you to bring
a bunch of flowers, greenery, table covering, apron & scissors,maybe ribbon etc (there
will be a small amount of greenery available).
It promises to be a fun evening with plenty of chat and cake. As there will be no
demonstrator to provide our usual floral prizes we are asking for RAFFLE PRIZE
DONATIONS a box will be placed on the refreshments table all prizes will be gratefully
received.

FRIDAY 7thAUGUST WELLS CATHEDRAL have again asked us to arrange a pedestal in the Nave this year. Sally Fallows has kindly volunteered for this task and asks if there is anyone who would like to go along with her, so they could perhaps do it next year?.

NAFAS NEWS
11th May afternoon of flowers and cake at Conygre Hall Timsbury with demonstrators Coral Gardiner and Lucy Ellis.
19th June COUNCIL MEETING at Conygre Hall,Joy and Sylvia will be attending if you have any questions or suggestions regarding the club please raise with them before they go. They will also hold a Sales table for club funds.
26TH & 27th JUNE WESSEX &JERSEY AREA FLOWER SHOW At Romsey Hampshire.

SAD NEWS 2 of our former members have recently passed away Sonia Mitchell from
Banwell also Myra Cox who was a local flower arranger and demonstrator, (her funeral to be announced).
FUND RAISING FOR THE CLUB/CHARITY
Thanks to Joy, Cathy W donated £20 to our Charity after Joy helped her with a wedding
bouquet and buttonholes.
Next month’s Charity games will be how many calories in a tub of quality streets, winner
gets the chocolates or should I say the calories! Also how many petals on a flower
