About Us

We are a small, friendly club which was started in 1984. We meet in St Andrew’s Church Hall, Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, at 7.30pm on the third Monday of every month, except August and December. At our meetings we have a guest Area Demonstrator, who will arrange 5 or 6 designs, and you can sit back and relax.

Our first Demonstration of the year was on February 20th by Area Demonstrator, Rosemary Kerr. This design was Rosemary’s interpretation of an underground walk in her local sewer system. We especially liked the rats made out of teasels!

Our next demonstration evening will be on April 24th. New members and visitors are always welcome. Our Club and Competition Night will be on June 19th, and will give members an opportunity to socialise and pick up tips on Competition work.

Members are often involved in local Church Flower Festivals. The pictured arrangement was in the Methodist Church last Summer, and later this year we will be helping at the Festival of Flowers and Quilts to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the building of Our Lady and The English Martyrs Church.

In November, we have an Open Meeting when a National Demonstrator will come to the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre with a Seasonal Display.  This year we are fortunate to have Jonathan Moseley, a top National Demonstrator and Judge from TVs’ The Great Allotment Challenge on November 27th. He will also be holding a workshop on November 28th. The club will also be running classes and workshops for beginners and more advanced members throughout the year. Social events are organised as well, and we raise money for charity.

The club is affiliated to the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS), which has charitable status. NAFAS is divided into Areas and we belong to the South West Area, which has around 2,000 members. The South West Area organises education days on various aspects of flower arranging, and our members can go along and participate in these events.

Belonging to NAFAS is an enjoyable experience and will open up a whole new world for you, so why not come along to our club as a guest and find out more? We would be very pleased to see you! . Visit our What’s On page to find out what’s happening in the coming months.
